The Asian Institute of Technology, under the management of the Thai government, offers several scholarships for master’s degrees to students with excellent academic qualifications.
Established on March 12, 1997, with support from the Japanese government, the Asian Institute of Technology aims to contribute to the development of new technologies for water conservation and environmental protection. It also supports the KURITA research scholarship program to aid academic researchers.
The language of instruction for the scholarship: English. The duration of the study varies by program.

- Water Engineering and Management (WEM), School of Engineering and Technology (SET)
- Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD)
Targeted Countries for the Scholarship: United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey, Yemen, Iran, Oman, and other countries outside the Middle East and North Africa.
Scholarship Application Requirements
- Applicants from all Asian countries may apply
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required
- Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL: 76 or IELTS: 6)
- Applicants must meet the AIT requirements
Program Cost: (Full Scholarship)
- The scholarship covers all fees, including tuition, accommodation, health insurance, Airline tickets, and visa renewal.
- Selected students may also be able to join a short-term internship at Kurita Water Industries Ltd. in Japan during their studies at AIT.
