Arab and Foreign Students' Visa for Studying in Egypt

Egypt offers numerous facilities to international students, including the ease of obtaining a study visa, unlike European countries where obtaining a visa can be difficult. Moreover, citizens of certain Arab countries can enter Egypt without a visa.

First: Arab Countries Allowed to Enter Egypt Without a Visa

Nationals from the following Arab countries can enter Egypt without a visa and stay for up to three months with only a valid passport:

  • United Arab Emirates
  • Bahrain
  • Kuwait
  • Oman
  • Jordan
  • Saudi Arabia

However, students from other Arab countries need to obtain a study visa or an entry visa, available from the Egyptian embassy in the student’s home country. Students who wish to study in Egypt should visit the Egyptian consulate in their country to find out all the requirements and steps to obtain the visa.

Conditions for Obtaining a Study Visa in Egypt

To obtain a study visa in Egypt, one must apply at the nearest Egyptian consulate in your country, providing:

  • Initial university acceptance
  • Proof of financial resources to support the student during their stay in Egypt

The student must fill out the visa application and submit it with the necessary documents, which include:

  • Valid passport
  • Personal photos with a white background
  • University acceptance letter
  • Medical certificate proving the applicant is free of infectious diseases

Due to the “Study in Egypt” initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education to enhance the system for foreign students in Egypt, the acceptance letter is obtained through the Study in Egypt website, and the student waits about 21 days to receive the visa.
