Overview of the National University of Tenaga (UNITEN)
The National University of Tenaga (UNITEN) began as a government institute (IKATAN) in Bandar Muadzam Shah in 1994, before transforming into a private university under the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Foundation. It offers bachelor’s, diploma, master’s, and doctoral programs in engineering, information technology, and business administration. In 2000, Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad officially opened UNITEN’s modern campus in Putrajaya.
With extensive experience in higher education since 1997, the university annually graduates professionals with academic and practical competence, well-trained to face real-life challenges. UNITEN creates a lively and vibrant atmosphere within its campuses, enriching university life through various student activities.
According to global rankings, UNITEN is among the top 10 universities in Malaysia and is globally recognized for its engineering programs. The university achieves high employment rates for its graduates, reaching 93% within six months of graduation.
The university offers about 50 academic programs through its five faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Business Management and Accounting, Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Faculty of Energy Economics and Social Sciences, and the Graduate Studies Faculty.
