About Gazi University

Gazi University was founded in 1926 during the era of Kemal Atatürk in the Turkish capital, Ankara, originally as the “Gazi Teacher Training Institute.” In 1982, it merged with several academies and colleges to become a university. Today, Gazi University includes 15 faculties, 9 vocational colleges of higher education, 26 research centers, and 6 graduate institutes.

Gazi University aims to develop perspectives regarding social issues, responsibilities, ethics, and to promote technical, scientific, and cultural exchanges with similar institutions nationally and internationally, contributing to Turkey’s development process.

Gazi University is one of the largest universities in Turkey, with approximately 57,000 students, including about 1,500 students from Central Asian countries. The faculty includes about 4,000 professors, lecturers, and assistants. The university ranks among the top 500 universities worldwide.

Gazi University participates in various collaborative projects and student exchange programs with universities around the world. The university uses both Turkish and English as languages of instruction.
