Residence Permit in Azerbaijan

There are three ways to obtain a residence permit in Azerbaijan:

First Method (Real Estate Investment in Azerbaijan for 3 years): 

If an investor invests in Azerbaijan with a minimum value of 500,000 manats (equivalent to $294,500), they can obtain a three-year residence permit. The investment can be in real estate or establishing a company.

Documents Required to Obtain a Residence Permit:

  • Property Ownership Deed. 
  • Passport of the Property Owner. 
  • Property Ownership Deed certified by the Real Estate Registration and Advertising Office. 

Note: The duration to obtain the residence permit is one week (7 days).

Second Method (Real Estate Investment in Azerbaijan for 1 year): 

Suppose an individual wishes to purchase a house worth 100,000 manats (equivalent to $59,000) as a minimum. In that case, they can obtain a residence permit for one year, renewable annually, and it ceases if the property is sold.

Documents Required to Obtain a Residence Permit: 

  • Property Ownership Deed. 
  • Passport of the Property Owner. 
  • Property Ownership Deed certified by the Real Estate Registration and Advertising Office. 

The duration to process the residence permit ranges from 3 to 4 weeks.

Third Method to Obtain a Residence Permit in Azerbaijan: 

If an individual desires to establish a company, they are not eligible to obtain a residence permit. However, if they serve as a director in a company, they are eligible to obtain a residence permit.

This also applies to the position of deputy director (assistant manager).

Documents Required to Obtain a Residence Permit: 

  • Job acknowledgment (Director or Deputy Director), provided by the OK TAMAM branch in Azerbaijan. 
  • Insurance document from the government portalprovided by the OK TAMAM branch in Azerbaijan.
  • Application for enrollment (obtained from the Immigration Department). Copy of passport (valid for at least 15 months). 
  • Copy of all company documents and agreements with the notary’s approval. 
  • Health certificate (from the hospital designated by the Immigration Department). 
  • Two passport-sized photos measuring 3.5×5 cm. 
  • Residence contract (apartment) proving the person’s ownership of the place. 
  • Property deed (issued by the government registration office). 
  • One-year lease agreement. 
  • Letter from the unit owner certified by the notary. 
  • Copy of the unit owner’s ID card. 
  • Payment of government service fees. 

The duration to process the residence permit ranges from 3 to 4 weeks.

Residence Permit Issuance Fees: $850 USD.
