Registering at Private Turkish Universities

It is difficult for a student to rely on direct registration at private universities due to unfamiliarity with the available majors or tuition fees. Moreover, private universities usually do not offer discounts except through authorized agents. Therefore, at the OK TAMAM group, we assist students by recommending all available universities in their desired field of study, clarifying tuition fees after the special discount, and explaining the university’s registration conditions, required documents, and registration procedures. We help students until they arrive in Turkey and complete their paper registration at the university.

Private universities do not require high academic averages or international aptitude certificates, and students can register in any of the medical or engineering specialties with a total not exceeding 70% and without a language certificate.

Steps for Registering at Private Universities through OK TAMAM Group

  • The student contacts one of the educational consultants and explains their educational level and the specialty they wish to study. The educational consultant recommends the best available universities in that specialty and clarifies the tuition fees and required documents (you can also visit the best Turkish universities page on our website).
  • The student chooses the university they want to register at, prepares their documents, and sends them to the educational consultant. The required documents for registration usually include a personal photo, a copy of the passport, a high school diploma (baccalaureate), and a transcript.
  • After receiving the documents, the specialist in charge of the student’s file registers the student at the university, usually taking 15 days until the issuance of the preliminary acceptance letter, although this may be delayed at some universities.
  • The student receives their preliminary acceptance letter and must verify their personal information and academic specialty.
  • Pay the first installment of the tuition fees, usually $1000 USD, to the university’s account as specified in the acceptance letter for the university to issue the final acceptance letter.
  • The final acceptance letter is delivered to the student, who then presents it to the Turkish consulate to obtain a student visa.
  • After obtaining the entry visa to Turkey, the student must arrive in Turkey at the specified time to complete their registration at the university.
  • The student submits all their official documents, along with the Turkish-translated copies, to the university administration.

Registering at Public Universities

Public universities differ from private ones as they do not have authorized agents, and their registration system is based on direct registration by the student on the university’s website. No one can guarantee a study seat at a public university formally, and public universities base admission on the principle of competition among students, meaning those with the strongest profiles have the best chances of acceptance at the university.

Public universities usually require students to have passed the YOS or SAT exams and set specific grade requirements for each specialty as a condition of application. To learn more about the YOS exam, please visit the YOS exam page on our website. To register at public universities, you must follow the official university website to learn about the conditions and registration requirements and submit your documents when the university announces the opening of registration.
