Education System in Turkey

The education system in Turkey – Primary education System in Turkey, aims to provide equal rights and obligations to all Turkish citizens and foreign residents in the Republic of Turkey.

Kindergarten (Preschool Stage):

This stage is non-compulsory and includes children aged between 3-5 years old. It focuses on raising children who have yet to reach the compulsory primary education stage.

Primary and Secondary Education :

Primary education covers children aged between 6-14 years old. Primary education in Turkey is mandatory for all citizens without any discrimination. Additionally, the compulsory duration of primary education is eight years and is provided free of charge to all citizens studying in government schools. At the end of primary education, students are provided with information about studying in public, vocational, and technical schools and their chosen profession.

Middle School – High School :

This is the stage following primary education, whether general, vocational, or technical. The duration of study in middle school is four years.
